Paragon Data Systems introduces WEP-On®
September 29 – Cleveland, OH – Paragon Data Systems introduces WEP-On®, a new software application for 802.11b wireless devices that increases manageability and decreases configuration time.
WEP-On allows users to record network settings, obtain and record MAC addresses, and store information at your fingertips. WEP-On also generates a report containing bar code and human readable data from which portable data terminal (PDT’s) can be configured in only seconds. “On a recent project, we were able to receive, assemble, and configure 40 Intermec Antares handheld computers in less than two hours, as opposed to the day and a half it would have taken without WEP-On,” said Paragon Vice President of Technical Sales and Services Giles Manias. “We developed it for our own use, but soon realized it can help any wireless VAR or large user of wireless products,” he explained.
Other WEP-On features include program-generated hexadecimal Wireless Equivalent Privacy (WEP) keys and a unique service set identifier (SSID) that create multiple communication channels and a network-specific language for greater security.
